More about Waiting for Legal Advice
James Campbell studied at the Liverpool Academy and later moved to the Royal Academy of Schools in 1851. His works were influenced by pre-Raphaelite ideas and focus on the details of lower-middle class and working class life. The painting shows a man looking a bit disgruntled while he and a boy are seated in the waiting area of a solicitor’s office. The painting is now a part of a collection of National Museums Liverpool.
