More about Peaceable Kingdom
The Peaceable Kingdom, drawn from Isaiah 11, shows children and wild animals peacefully cohabitating. In the background, we see a depiction of William Penn’s treaty with the Native Americans. While Peacable Kingdom is not an explicitly religious image, it exemplifies the painter’s Quaker beliefs. A version of this painting is now at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.
