More about Goodfellas
Goodfellas appeared in the movie of the same name. It was reportedly painted by the mother of the writer, Nicholas Pileggi. The image was actually based on a photo from the November 1978 issue of National Geographic. The painting depicts a man with two dogs on a boat.

The man in the painting is a retired banker named John Weaving. The two dogs are called Brocky and Twiggy. Weaving lived on a houseboat on the river Shannon. He was a navigational consultant, handyman and an eco-crusader. He passed away in 1987. A bronze bust of him was erected beside the harbour in Terryglass.
