Going Home was one of the works displayed at the 9 by 5 Impression Exhibition in August 1889 at Buxton’s Art Gallery in Melbourne. The title of the exhibition refers to the size of the works exhibited at the gallery. Going Home depicts a couple walking together along a wet pavement at sunset. The painting is currently at the National Gallery of Australia.
