Carnival Evening 1886

0 out of 5

A mysterious painting in that the main figures being highlighted in the art work are very much in contrast to their dark and dreary background. Looking at the painting, it would seem like the characters are actually shining from within instead of reflecting the light coming from the moon.
It is among Rousseau’s many paintings that feature fantastic scenes that appealed to many collectors and artists, including Pablo Picasso.
An oddly moving piece that grabs the attention of the audience.
