Arrufos or Lover’s Quarrel is a work about marital dispute. The woman appears to be sobbing while she leans on the couch. The man just smokes his cigar, unconcerned with his wife’s anguish. The man in the picture is the Brazilian writer and art critic Gonzaga Duque. The painting is now at the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes in Brazil.
