The Flower Carrier
Diego Rivera is considered as the greatest Mexican painter of the 20th century. He reintroduced fresco painting into modern art and architecture.
Rivera’s artwork shows his concern for the plight of the peasants in Mexico. The symbolism in The Flower Carrier and his other paintings represent the difficulties faced by unskilled workers in the modern world.

More about The Flower Carrier
The Flower Carrier depicts a man to carry a basket filled with purple and pink flowers. He is being assisted by a woman as he lifts the basket. The basket strapped to his back is almost as big as him. Rivera makes the subjects stand out from the background with the use of bold, bright colors and shadows. The painting is currently on display at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
